Well I made it back from New Orleans LATE last night, and today, my head is still spinning. So many great speakers, with so many greats idea, that I’m locking myself in a room tomorrow to hash out and prioritize all of the GREAT ideas that I came up with at this event.

All of the ideas were thanks to the speakers and attendees whom I had a chance to listen to, chat with, share a meal with, and get to know better. The smaller, intimate setting made for a fantastic event, and I’m sure that everyone had a fantastic time.

Over the next few weeks, you’ll be hearing a lot more about what I learned at the event, specifically. I’m going to introduce you to many of the people that I met, and the concepts and best practices that they turned me onto. I can’t wait to share this with you.

For now, I’ll leave you with some general takeaways that I got from this event. These are big picture concepts that I’ll be incorporating into my businesses for years to come:

  • You can invest virtually, you just need a system to follow to do so.
  • You need to implement these systems in ALL facets of your business, not just certain ones. Once you can systematize something, you can focus on the next task.
  • You need to track and test all of your systems. Without the proper tracking, you can’t have the best systems in place
  • Break out of the mindset that you can’t invest outside of your local market. The naysayers are the ones who aren’t making the big money.
  • The internet is breaking down geographical barriers. Become an early adopter to this theory, before it’s too late.
  • Don’t be afraid to invest outside of your local area. With the right team in place, you can invest anywhere.
  • You need to outsource functions and tasks in your business to other people.
  • These outsource partners don’t need to be employees. They don’t even need to be in the same city, state or even country as you!
  • You don’t have to get it right, just get it started!

The last bullet point was made several times. I also heard the expression “version 1.0 is always better than version none dot oh!”.

I’m sure many of you just read that list and thought “wow, could Justin have been any more generic, general, and non-specific?” Well, partially, you are correct. But don’t worry, because very soon, you’ll be getting a TON of specific information about specific strategies and tactics that you’ll need to implement in your business. I just wanted to write a quick message to tell everyone about my fantastic trip.

Speaking of fantastic trips, although I have been to New Orleans several times before, this was my first trip post Katrina. It was great to see that things in the tourist spots are still doing well. However, a lot still needs to be done to get New Orleans back to what it is: one of the top tourist and cultural attractions in the United States.

The restaurants’ however, are still sublime and I had a chance to eat at Emeril’s NOLA, The Palace Cafe, and daily lunches catered by Brennan’s. Of course, no trip to New Orleans would be complete without a burger from the Port of Call!

That’s all for now, but remember to keep your eyes on your inbox from any emails from me. You’ll be thrilled to learn what I did this past weekend.
And don’t worry, there WILL be another Virtual Investing Seminar next year, and I’ll be sure to invite you as my guest!

Happy Investing,
